Our Zaandam Hotel

A perfect place to stay outside of Amsterdam!

Being that there are thousands of flower lovers like me out there, April-May is peak travel time in The Netherlands which means not only do the hotel & flight prices go up but, they also book up quickly!  To save a little bit of money we decided to stay outside of Amsterdam in a small quiet city called Zaandam and it was the perfect location. We stayed in the Best Western Zaan Inn which was very clean, quiet, updated rooms/bathrooms, friendly staff, free WiFi and centrally located. The hotel had a nice bar where we sat and had a few drinks at the end of the night and a restaurant which we did not eat at so I cannot comment on the service or food.  A few key points about our hotel, it was a 5 minute walk or less to the train station and only a 15 min train ride right into Amsterdam! There was a supermarket around the corner (maybe a 2 min walk) and a 5 minute walk to the famous Inntel Hotel, Zaandam downtown area which has shopping, Zaandam City Hall, restaurants & bars.  Charlie and I were both very happy with the hotel and location and would stay her again. We walked Zaandam downtown area almost every day whether it was for breakfast before heading into Amsterdam city or at the end of the night to get a drink at one of the bars and unwind after a busy day of sightseeing.
